Battery for Eaton 5PX

🔋 HotSwap Battery + EBMs

The Eaton 5PX uses HotSwap internal battery modules — slide-out replacement without shutting down the protected load. ABM three-stage charging extends battery life up to 50% beyond conventional UPS.

Common 5PX battery part numbers: EBP-1006 (5PX 1500–2200 VA), EBP-1007 (5PX 3000 VA), EBP-1003 (5PX 750–1000 VA). We match the exact battery to your serial number.

5PX vs 5PX G2: The G2 adds improved efficiency and a colour LCD. Both use the same battery platform. We stock batteries for both generations.

FAQ

Eaton 5PX questions

Eaton 5PX vs 9PX — which should I choose?
The 5PX is line-interactive (pure sine wave, <4 ms transfer time) and costs less. The 9PX is online double-conversion (zero transfer time, continuous voltage conditioning). For standard servers and networking, the 5PX provides excellent protection at a lower price point. For sensitive loads (medical, broadcast, financial trading) where any transfer time is unacceptable, the 9PX is required. If you’re unsure, tell us your equipment and we’ll recommend the right platform.
Can I replace the 5PX battery without shutting down?
Yes. The Eaton 5PX uses HotSwap battery technology — the internal module slides out and the replacement slides in while the UPS continues protecting your load. No tools required on most models.
How long do 5PX batteries last?
With ABM (Advanced Battery Management), 5PX batteries typically last 4–7 years in optimal conditions (below 25°C). Without ABM, standard VRLA batteries last 3–5 years. ABM’s three-stage charging algorithm extends life by up to 50% compared to conventional trickle charging.
Can I add extended runtime to the 5PX?
Yes. The 5PX supports External Battery Modules (EBMs) for extended runtime. Each EBM adds approximately 15–30 minutes at half load depending on the VA rating. Up to 4 EBMs can be daisy-chained. We calculate the exact runtime based on your load.
Is the 5PX suitable for a small server room?
Yes — the 5PX is one of the most common UPS platforms in Canadian SMB server rooms. The 1500 VA model (1440 W) protects a typical server plus switch and firewall. The 3000 VA model (2700 W) handles 2–3 servers plus networking. For loads above 3000 VA or for mission-critical environments, step up to the 9PX.
