What We Buy
A UPS buyback is the practical alternative to a trade-in program or electronics recycling: instead of paying to dispose of decommissioned UPS equipment, you sell used UPS hardware that still has service life. Because we refurbish and support Eaton UPS systems ourselves, we can evaluate used Eaton UPS equipment on its real condition, not just its age.
Eaton UPS models we buy back
Eaton 9PX / 9SX
Double-conversion online rack and tower units from 700 VA to 11 kVA, with or without extended battery modules (EBMs).
Eaton 9130 / 9155 / 9355
Single- and three-phase online UPS from 700 VA to 30 kVA, working or repairable units from upgrades and decommissions.
Eaton 93E / 93PM
Three-phase systems and uninterruptible power modules (UPMs) from data-centre consolidations, evaluated with service history.
Eaton BladeUPS
12 kW modules, bars and frames: singly or as complete N+1 systems.
Powerware legacy (9120 / 9125 / 9390 / 9395)
Legacy Powerware platforms are considered case by case, mainly for parts recovery and fleet spares.
Accessories with units
Network cards (Network-M2/M3, ConnectUPS), maintenance bypass panels, EBMs and rail kits add value when included.
What qualifies for UPS buyback
Strong buyback candidates
- Recent-generation Eaton UPS systems that power on, or failed units with a known, repairable fault
- Complete units: chassis, internal modules and covers present
- Decommissioned UPS equipment from upgrades, office moves and data-centre consolidations
- Multiple-unit lots from IT refresh programs (fleet standardization, site closures)
- Units with dead or aged batteries: batteries are replaced during refurbishment anyway
Usually not a fit
- Small consumer or desktop UPS units (surge-bar class)
- Units with major physical damage, water exposure or missing core modules
- Platforms so old that parts recovery is the only value. We may still take these for responsible UPS recycling
How the UPS buyback works
Tell us what you have
Model number, quantity, approximate age, condition and a few photos. A nameplate photo answers most questions.
Get an offer
We assess model, age, condition and quantity, and reply with a buyback offer or a candid “not a fit.”
Pickup or shipping
Depending on size, location and quantity, we arrange pickup, palletized freight or a ship-in: coordinated around your decommission schedule.
Get paid
Once the equipment is received and verified against the description, payment is issued. No surprises at the dock.
From used Eaton UPS to refurbished Eaton UPS
Buyback units feed our refurbished UPS program. Every refurbished Eaton UPS is inspected, serviced, fitted with new batteries and load-tested before it is resold with a warranty, which is exactly why we can pay fair value for used Eaton UPS equipment instead of scrap pricing. Browse replacement Eaton UPS batteries to see where qualifying units end up, or read about professional Eaton and Powerware UPS maintenance at Canada-wide UPS maintenance services, the service organization behind our refurbishment work.
If it doesn’t qualify: UPS recycling
Not every unit has resale value. When a used UPS is beyond economic repair, we can still help you route it to responsible UPS recycling and battery disposal instead of a landfill: lead-acid UPS batteries are among the most recyclable industrial products in Canada. Ask about recycling when you request your offer.
UPS buyback FAQ
Which used Eaton UPS models do you buy?
The families listed above are the most common: Eaton 9PX / 9SX, Eaton 9130 / 9155 / 9355, Eaton 93E / 93PM, Eaton BladeUPS and related platforms. Anything else is evaluated case by case. Send the model number and we will give you a straight answer.
Does the UPS need to be working?
No. Working units are worth more, but repairable units with known faults are regular buyback candidates because we service these platforms ourselves. Describe the fault as precisely as you can.
Do you buy UPS systems with dead batteries?
Yes. Batteries are consumables and are replaced with new cells during refurbishment, so a dead battery string does not disqualify a unit: the electronics and frame carry the value.
How is the buyback offer determined?
Model and generation, electrical condition, physical condition, completeness (modules, cards, covers), quantity, and your location for freight. Complete recent-generation units in working order set the ceiling; parts-recovery units set the floor.
Can you handle a full data-centre decommission?
Yes. Multi-unit lots from decommissions and consolidations are the core of the program. Send the equipment list and site details and we will coordinate evaluation, logistics and payment as one project.
What if my equipment isn’t worth buying?
We will say so plainly, and we can route the equipment to responsible UPS recycling, including battery disposal, so your decommission is still handled cleanly.

Replacing a three-phase Eaton system?
