Why Preventive Maintenance Is Critical for Eaton UPS Systems
An Eaton UPS that hasn’t been serviced in 2–3 years is a liability, not a safety net. Capacitors degrade, battery terminals corrode, firmware falls behind, and fans accumulate dust. None of these failures announce themselves until power fails and your UPS can’t protect the load.
Eaton Service Canada works with IT managers, facilities teams, and operations directors across Canada to establish annual or biannual maintenance schedules that keep Eaton and Powerware UPS systems performing to specification throughout their service life.

Contact UsFrequently Asked Questions
How often should Eaton UPS systems be serviced?
Annual maintenance is recommended for most Eaton 5P, 9PX, and 9SX systems. For UPS units over 10 kVA, in high-temperature environments, or supporting critical loads (hospitals, data centres, government), biannual servicing is strongly recommended.
Can you perform maintenance on-site at our facility?
Yes — all Eaton Service Canada maintenance is performed on-site. No depot shipping required. Technicians arrive with test equipment and commonly needed spare parts, and most visits complete within a standard business day without taking the UPS fully offline.
Do you service legacy Powerware UPS systems?
Yes. We service the full Powerware legacy range including 9315, 9390, and 9395 systems. Older Powerware systems frequently have degraded batteries and capacitors that are invisible on the panel — a maintenance visit will surface these issues before they cause a failure.
Do you provide a service report after the visit?
Yes. Every visit is documented with a written service report including the Eaton UPS model and serial number, test results, findings, parts replaced, and recommended next service date. Reports are provided in PDF format.
