Battery for Eaton 9SX

🔋 HotSwap Battery + EBMs

The Eaton 9SX uses HotSwap internal battery modules with the same ABM three-stage charging as the 9PX. Tower form factor means the battery drawer is front-accessible for easy replacement without moving the unit.

Common 9SX battery part numbers: EBP-1003 (9SX 700–1500 VA), EBP-1004 (9SX 2–3 kVA), EBP-1607 (9SX 5–6 kVA). We match the exact battery to your serial number.

9SX vs 9PX: Same online topology, same ABM technology, same EBM platform. The difference is form factor: 9SX is tower-first, 9PX is rack-first. Choose based on your physical deployment.

FAQ

Eaton 9SX questions

Eaton 9SX vs 9PX — what is the difference?
Same online double-conversion topology, same ABM battery management, same efficiency. The key difference is form factor: the 9SX is designed as a tower unit (floor-standing), while the 9PX is designed as a rack-mount unit (2U, convertible to tower). If your deployment is rack-based, choose the 9PX. If it’s floor-standing or beside equipment, the 9SX is the better fit.
Can I replace the 9SX battery without shutting down?
Yes. The 9SX uses HotSwap battery technology. The front-accessible battery drawer slides out while the UPS continues operating on bypass. No tools required on most models.
Is the 9SX suitable for a hospital environment?
Yes. The 9SX tower form factor is commonly deployed beside medical devices, in hospital bedside applications, and in lab environments where rack infrastructure doesn’t exist. The online double-conversion topology provides the zero-transfer-time protection required for sensitive medical equipment.
Can I add extended runtime to the 9SX?
Yes. The 9SX supports External Battery Modules (EBMs) connected to the rear panel. Each EBM adds approximately 10–20 minutes of runtime at half load. Up to 4 EBMs can be stacked vertically beside the main unit.
What warranty does the 9SX come with?
Eaton provides a 5-year warranty on the 9SX electronics and a 2-year warranty on the batteries. With ABM charging, you can expect the batteries to outlast the warranty period by 2–5 years in optimal conditions.
